Thanksgiving History
Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday. You eat as much turkey you can eat and you give thanks to all the things you have, but do you know the history of thanksgiving? In 1620 the pilgrims sailed from England to America aboard the Mayflower. They set ground at Plymouth rock. Thats when they met the Wampanoag indians. The indians helped them survive their first year. The harvest of 1621 was a bountiful one and they decided to celebrate with a feast. There was 54 pilgrims and 91 indians at the feast. That lasted 3 days and it was a time were they gave thanks for all the indians help and that they are able to have that wonderful feast. It was not until 1863 that president Abraham Lincoln made Thanksgiving a national holiday each November.

ReplyDeleteVery good job, Cesare. I liked the way you started off by asking the reader a question. It would be great if you used capitals when you needed to, and checked your grammar. Your writing is improving with each post!
